BT business hub

Featured Replies

Hi,

We have a recently installed BT business hub providing broadband.

I'm wondering if, in addition to the existing SSID which, at present, everyone is using, it is capable of providing a separate guest SSID with limited bandwidth, and perhaps a third which employees can connect their mobiles etc to without draining all the bandwidth from the main, more critical, connection.

thanks

Martin

Looks like you can split the bands - http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/56419/~/how-do-i-split-my-bt-hubs-ssid-(wireless-network-name)%3F

That may or may not be desirable.

I think you're really looking at something more sophisticated.

You could pick up an enterprise WAP and link it to the BT hub with a network cable. Just shut down the wifi on the BT hub and use it as a router only. control your wifi through the WAP.
