Help Needed-Twang Sound

Featured Replies

I have a Twang/creaking sound coming from my steering on my ignis sport.

It occurs when i turn the steering wheel more than 1 revolution or all the way to full lock.

Its a bit of a long story.

1. I purchased some lowering springs for my car and a friend was fitting them for me. We got the front drivers side shock off and realised that the springs the shop had ordered were for the standard ignis did not fit. We assembled the strut and shock back together. I drove the car for 10 min to see if it was ok and it was fine. The next day it started to make the noise.

2. I took it to the suzuki dealer and they said it was a bolt that was lose, which it wasnt but they tightened it up anyway. After getting the car back nothing had changed.

3.I finally get the correct springs yesterday, once fitted the same noise was present but louder.

I assumed it was the springs not seated properly on the strut assessembly but my friend made sure they were ok.

Any ideas?

The springs are 30 mm spax and wheels are 17 x 7 and do not rub or knock.
