Carburettor jetting

Featured Replies

I have noticed that both my 105 and my 130 have the same slight lumpy fuel misfire feel when pulling in the 1500-3000 RPM range. At full throttle this is reduced but when pulling away especially when the engine is not on choke always gets the slight lumpy surge. I know it's not supposed to be this way and one thing I have heard about is how modern fuels need different jetting sizes as compared to older fuels. I am using TEL additive in both cars for better performance but something is still lacking. The cars are all in good fettle but I do find the lumpy pickup annoying as it should not be there.

Has anyone looked into this jetting issue and what sizes need to be used? Both are running 100% stock Jikov's in perfect condition.

I really think you need to be posting somewhere with people who have old Skodas......this is not the place. These days Facebook - Old Skoda Owners or Skoda Owners Club GB (but not the one marked non racist friendly.....it's a red herring) is where you will find the majority of internet savvy owners.
