Hi, I'm Ade, and I'm owning my 5th Skoda

Featured Replies

Hi. I'm new here.

When I first got married, we couldn't afford a car, so we systematically borrowed various cars from my wife's German family - a VW Jetta, a VW Golf Estate, a Lancia! I really enjoyed driving foreign left-hand drives around London for a few years. It confused the police a few times.

When we came to finally buying our first car for ourself, my father in law really wanted us to get a Skoda. He eagerly went on test drives in Germany on our behalf, gleefully reporting back to us his findings.

In 2008, we got an '08 Skoda Fabia 1.2 Hatch - it was great, but our dog ate the interior.

In 2012, we PX'd the hatch for a '12 Skoda Fabia 1.2 Estate - it was even greater, because we could fit more dogs into it.

Because we had too many dogs, we moved out into the countryside, so I got my wife an '09 Skoda Fabia 1.6 Tiptronic - which was really nice because it had a leather steering wheel, and the dogs weren't allowed in the front.

I got bored of my '12 estate at around 95,000 miles and PX'd it for a '65 Skoda Octavia 1.6 DSG 7 speed - which I'm loving, because it has ACC and makes my daily commute a breeze. The dogs aren't allowed in it at all.

I got bored of my wife's '09 Fabia because the dogs made it smell, so I bought her a '65 Skoda Yeti 1.2 DSG 7 speed - which she loves because she's always wanted a Yeti, and it fits a huge dog crate in the back.

So we're very much a Skoda family. I love the brand and I love the cars.

So that's my hello.

Ade.
