Hi. I have a 59 reg 2.0 tsi be a which has a strange rattle that sounds like it is coming from the top of the engine. At idle it cannot be heard and if I rev the engine while stationary it cannot be heard. Can only hear it when driving between 1500 and 3000rpm then it seems to go away. 

Anyone had anything similar to this??

Also the engine management light has come on and is showing code p2015 something to do with the intake manifold. Doubt this is related to my problem

P2015 won't cause any kind of rattle. 

 

With it being a TSI, I'd be concerned that any rattle could be timing chain related. Have you read the big thread that's stickied at the top of the Octavia forum? 

Meant to sat I already had the timing chain changed as it jumped 2 teeth

Possibly wastegate rattle.  That is prevalent around that RPM. Search and see if it is the same, otherwise really need a recording of the noise to offer suggestions.

Get a video up of the rattle if you can, I have had a couple on mine so may be able to help if I hear it!
