Hello everyone,

I've searched on the forum but couldn't find if the tuning boxes made for the 105hp also work for the 86hp version.

For example RaceChips has and "S" chip for both 86hp and 105hp, for the 86hp version it claims 98hp/192nm, and for the 105hp version it claims 119hp/210nm

Can a Box made for the 105hp engine work with the 86hp engine?
 

 

Would be very pleased just to know if any box made for the 105hp engine works with the 86hp version, anyone?

Thank you will do, do you have an opinion about racechip boxes?

The thing is they just say anything that they think you want to hear.

 

Where are you buying the box from, ask them, or are you buying a 'used / 2nd hand one'.

I was looking for second hand that's why I wasn't so sure about asking the company, but here's the response i got from "Anton" from bluespark:
 

no it doesnt

 

the box is entirely configurable by us

 

we are looking at adding "X boost value" at "X point"

 

if you use a box for a higher power model, which has a lower boost increase, this will not result in better performance, but worse.

 

This is why it is important to choose the correct unit

 

But would really like to know if someone here have used a box from the 105hp with the 86hp engine.

That is why people in the UK bought from them, they were quick to respond and even helped customers in person at their premises.

I can see they are very friendly! I got this response just now which pretty much excludes a second hand box made for the 105hp, by what they say.

Yes, with the 86bhp tuning box you could achieve the same performance increases as the 105bhp as we can use a higher tune map for you. 

 

And the price being the same.
