Karoq LED rear lights

Featured Replies

Can’t seem to find any info on this, but I can see on the rear lights that the tail and stop lights are LED, but what about the indicators and fog/ reverse lights - are they still incandescent ?

Also, whist I’m asking, how many fog and reverse lights does the Karoq have  - 1 or 2 ?

its all in the spec pdf!

summary here

Ah right so the Edition is full LED then (including indicators) ?

Do we know how many fogs and reverse lights the car has ?

Also, sorry one more question (as it will be several weeks before I'm able to visit a dealer), does the Edition (or any Karoq model for that point), have footwell lights (front and rear), and if they do, are they like my MK7 Golf where they stay on (in a dimmed state) whist driving and then go to full intensity when the door is opened ?

Footwell lights front and rear...they do stay on and perhaps get a bit brighter when the door is opened. Even when I turned the interior lights off to see if that made a difference it was difficult to tell if they got brighter or not.

I think I read in the manual you could change the brightness of the footwell lights too.

Compared to the rest of the marques in the VAG Group, the LED rear lights are pretty poor. When we collected ours, the missus followed me home and commented on how insignificant the indicator lights were. We paid £45 short of £34k for ours so not really a cheap motor. I think its backside deserves better.

Strange, same bulbs as the Yeti and they seem to work ok

But an Interesting discussion on the Ateca forum about replacing indicator and reversing bulbs with LEDs and the possible consequences - I don't know whether the change was for functional or aesthetic reasons

Ironically, the Kodiaq forum has a discussion of how weak the reversing LEDs are

How effective are the Karoq reversing lights and do they both light up?  - perhaps an owner could let us know how good they are
