BSE engineburning oil

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’ve recently bought an Audi Audi A3 (sorry) and it’s burning a fair bit of oil about 350 miles per litre! It has a group BSE engine.

compressions of over 200psi on each cylinder.

ive taken off the inlet hose 1k0 129 684 with what must be the PCV valve built in. It seems permanently open and the vac connection is also free flowing.

there is oil in the inlet too. It has a fairly coked plug on No4 that is nearest the inlet pipe.

could this be giving me my high oil consumption????

if it is I will be the happiest man in Christendom.

many thanks

Andy

It will be the same Fundamental Design, Manufacturing, Material Failings as with

1.4 TSI Twinchargers, and Euro 5 1.8 & 2.0 TSI,

crap piston Ring / Scrapers / Pistons, and software and other issues.

Unfortunate but it ends up with Excessive Oil Users that requires engine rebuilds or replacement engines.
