Just changed the linkages on my wiper motor put it all back together and my wipers only go half way up the window, down past the scuttle panel, then come to rest about 4 inches where they should be, I put the wiper motor on first without the wipers to get it into the rest position,  and it still does it? Please help before I burn this bloody car

Were the linkages exactly the same length as the old ones?

Checked them against each other and yes they are,  I will get back onto it tomorrow, weather permitting 

Success, wipers back and working great, just a tip for anyone else doing this, the workshop manual is for a left hand drive car so reverse the settings for a right hand drive, and job done,  thanks guys
