Retro fitted central locking

Featured Replies

My car is a 2009 Octavia MK2 Classic facelift.

It's the very basic model without remote central locking etc. although it does have key operated central locking.

I bought this...

...and had it fitted by a main Skoda dealer.

It was working perfectly but a few days after having it installed it changed from opening all doors to just opening the driver's door. It does and always has locked all doors.

I called back to the dealer and they reset it to open all doors. Once again a few days later it reverted to opening only the driver's door.  The dealer said they would try to diagnose the cause but it would incur extra expense. I declined and left it as it was.

This was about two years ago and I would now like to get it back to opening all doors without the expense of the main dealer. I know it's a setting that has to be changed using vagcom but I'm wondering if anyone can shine any light on what would cause it to change from opening all doors to just opening the driver's.

Since my last post above I've got VCDS.

Using it, I changed...

  • opening one door on the fob to all doors
  • instrument cluster sweep (cosmetic but looks nice) :)
  • lock all doors at 15mkh. unlock all doors when ignition key is removed

All these items worked perfectly for a couple of weeks but a couple of days ago they all reverted to original!!

I know I asked in the last post above but can I ask anyone who might have even the slightest idea why this happens to respond please?
