Hi, I have a y reg fabia with the older style key, it has a button on it but this does nothing, I have replaced the battery and tried repairing it with the car but nothing has worked.

It is the 1.4 MPI 16v comfort.

 

Is it this type of key?...

If so, does the red light come on when you press the buttons?

Hi, it's the same shape except it has just one button in the middle and there isn't a light on the key

Oh. Didn't know such a key existed for the Mk1 Fabia.

According to the handbook only three types of key were supplied with the MK1 Fabia. The keys in the top pic are non-remote ones.
