Hey all. Been away for a little bit since the Octavia was written off. However, yesterday I bought myself a 2014 Muscavado 1.2 tsi Yeti Elegance DSG. :)

hopefully ill I’ll be picking it up on wed/thurs so will have pics up then while it’s still nice and clean.

Well that was eventful.  Picked up the car yesterday, they have done their inspections and a full service including brake fluid so servicing good for next 2 years.  Leave garage forecourt, drive approx 5 mile to petrol station, fill her up with fuel and head home (around another 5-6 mile) leave to go pick my wife and kids up from From MIL’s and suddenly maxidot beeps “Low oil pressure, turn off engine see owners manual” . Pull over and check oil level which is spot on,Take car back to Skoda dealer, they replace the oil pressure switch while very nicely paying for me to have lunch at nearby bar, fault still there . :(

Now driving a rapid loan car while they investigate :(

If its not the switch it could be the pump? Although I've not heard of oil pump failures...well.....barely ever. Where did you get it from, Bury or little downham?

Apparently the timing chain is noisy and they want to put a new chain in it. The car has only done 28k? I’d imagine it would be noisy if there’s no oil pressure as no oil getting to the top? It wasn’t this way when I road tested and purchased it last week so my thinking is it must be something that was disturbed or done incorrectly during the service. I called them yesterday as I’m wondering if their tech has left the old oil filter seal on under the new one thus blocking oil feed from oil filter housing?  This could cause oil pressure drop but have yet to hear from them today.

I have the car now.  Seems issue was a duff oil filter, all seems well now so will keep an eye on it as it gains some miles.

Hello Mike welcome back glad you got it sorted a worrying time still all is well now.B)
