1.9 vrs i think fuel problem

Featured Replies

I have a 2004 Fabia Vrs 1.9 it has a rough start and it eventually starts and runs for about 4minutes then shuts off, Once i was driving and slow down at a junction and the car shut down.

i suspect its a fuel problem not enough fuel is being fed to the engine for it to run.

any suggestions guys? I was told to put in a cleaning product in my car since a pipe may be blocked?

@bigboivrs - Well, if you're getting symptoms of fuel starvation start by checking the fuel filter, since that may well need changing.

If that's good, the next suspect is probably the lift pump in the fuel tank, and after than you need VCDS.

where is the fuel filter? i changed the filter cap thats on the bottom left of of the engine bay and its always empty (i did put diesel in it when changing)

@bigboivrs I can't remember exactly where it is on the Furbie, but it's not easy to get to quickly and you've just confirmed my suspicions that your problem is either it or the lift pump.
