Black Mk2 VRS

Featured Replies

Finally picked up a VRS with the option list i was looking for. Its got FSH, 56k mileage, 1 owner from new and it very good condition.

It's a manual 2.0t, was tempted by the DSG. Options - xenons, cruise, full leather,

I've done my modifying days on previous Vauxhalls but never say never.

Its fair to say the previous owner looked after the car but not under the bonnet :o

Better now. The brake discs look as if it's been stood a while and it needs a good run to clean them up. You said the previous owner looked after it, was it serviced correctly and was the cam tensioner replaced?

Wow, that was a seriously dirty engine bay! Good work cleaning it up :)

MFSW up next

Bringing a car back to new with little changes is one of my favourite things to see when people create a project thread!

Looks like a good buy, I’ll keep and eye one what else you get up to :)

I've always liked this shape of Astra and know a few people that have had crazy fast versions.  Yours looks like a nicely modded example.

Looking at the Octavia, you seem to have a good base there.  Plenty of modding ahead of you I reckon?  As Phillips said, I'll be interested to see how you get on with your mods down the line.

Thanks guys.

Just got the loom to arrive now before can start on the mfsw.

Taking inspiration from dilksies thread here -

Removed the DsG paddles on the back of the steering wheel.

Trimmed, filled and first sand -

Fitted the dash cam today following the guide on the forum.

Only difference was that I didn't want a12v splitter in the little cubby hole.

Adapted the 12v adaptor to run a positive and negative. Was hoping to do away with it completely but the circuit board inside looked important :D

My fuse board was completely different to what's been posted before -

Bought a normal blade adaptor but needed a mini in the end.

Dash cam installed behind mirror running power up A pillar and along headliner.

Happy with the job.

Remind me never to take the boot trim off again!!

What bulbs did you use to get rid of the flickering? To my knowledge the FL is quite picky when it comes to licence plate bulbs.

As long as you use the resistors it's ok. I cable tied them inside the boot lid.

Beware, the boot trim is a pig to put back on. Especially by yourself.

After sourcing a new wing from my local scrappy I thought I'd have a go myself.....

r2AmhuY.jpg

Headlights out, bumper off, arch liner off, blah blah.

That adhesive cement is near impossible to remove so tin snipped the old wing off.

Not a nice feeling I'll admit.

Long story short had to remove the reinforcement under the wing as it's riveted in.

Looks good as new though.....
