Suspension "knockety" sound

Featured Replies

Have 2010 Fabia Estate. When going slowly over rough ground there is a knockety sound from offside front which I think is a suspension problem. Just passed MOT last week with no problems.

read an old post about similar problem on mk 1 which I assume would be something similar. Mentioned bushes.

Would these be gone on a car with 36k miles on the clock?

is it a big job to change them. I am a reasonable DIY man.

Anyone know how much garage would charge to change both sides?

what should I be looking at underneath?

I'm sorry to say but I have also 2010 fabia and I have suffered from knocking sound maybe 2 years now. It's always getting worse in winter time when it's colder. I have changed droplinks, arb bushes and topmounts with no luck. This is so frustrating. 165k driven. Can't find anything wrong in annual inspection. Any ideas?

Similar issue. Had it years.  Worse cold kind of clatters over bumps etc. Never been an mot issue. Had arb drop links and wishbone bush done made no difference except it seemed to quieten for few weeks then return(?) weird! I was thinking it's the rubber bushes on arb going hard and perhaps moving a small amount.
