New style front badge, specific to MK2 facelift?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

which version of the new Skoda emblem/badge have you all used on the MK2 FL Octavia?

I bought a front and rear from ebay, fairly cheap and I didn't realise they could be a little problematic. I spent ages sanding and spraying to make them nice but the front one will not sit flush, there is a slight curve to this badge, the middle went on but it seems the top and bottom do not follow the same curve so pop off a few millimeters . I am currently adding layers of weatherproof silicone to it to close the gap. I then plan to paint the silicone magic black with a touch up pen but in case this looks really bad (I am a perfectionist) when it is done which is the front badge version that fits this car and sits flush so I can potentially buy one and restyle one fresh.

I know the pins may need cutting off but that is fine, I had to on this current badge.

Cheers

Actually doing a little more research it may be part numbers...

1ST 853 601 A AUL

5J0 853 621 A AUL

These are a better fit for the MK2 facelift? Looks like I wasted a good amount of money and time I guess buying the other ones and spraying them, I will need to buy these ones and some more spray. My own fault really but I had no idea all the badges for different models had a different shape.

I don't think there is a version that fits the curve perfectly as Skoda never made a new style badge for it.

Those part numbers match the ones I used, I think the middle is raised slightly? If I remember later I'll grab a picture - it's not perfect but was 'good enough' for me :)

Thank you I appreciate it.

I don't mind it being slightly raised but the ones I have now are very obvious and look bad when I look at them. I'm gutted I spent a good amount of time and money on them but you live and learn!

Couple of pictures attached, the gap is visible but only from the side and if you're looking for it.

I think there might be some more images in the main thread.

Thank you, that looks good enough for me!

I have ordered the badges now using those codes from a VAG official seller on ebay. A lot more expensive but it'll be worth it. Have had to order more spray as I am not sure I have enough, a costly mistake but easy enough to make.

Again thanks for the replies :)
