Fuel filter housing replacement

Featured Replies

My fuel filter possibly needs replacing, has written on it 3c0 127 400 c . All I can find is a couple on eBay at £195

Are there any after market versions of these? As a lot of other fuel filter housings are only around £30...

(Looking at new not used).

Can't find them either. Most are used ones, or indeed pretty expensive.

Is there any reason why you want to stick with a new one? As far as I know there is only 1 rubber seal, which is included in the filter kit, and there are no sensors of anything else why anyone would prefer new above a used one.

Based on the prices, I would go for a used one, and off course a new filter (/seal)

If new wasn't that much more expensive than a used one, or has other parts which can cause issues when using an 'old' one, I would also go for new, but in this case I can't find any reason to go for a new one, and would keep the 100GBP difference in my pocket :)

Mine was corroding on the outside top as advised by dealer. I just put some Kurust on it and it looks better and has not leaked at all. That was some time ago.

Mine was leaking too. Mechanic wore brushed the flakes off and managed to get a reseal with new filter and rubber seal but would like to have got a new replacement. And don't fancy used as could be same/worse condition.

The big risk is from fuel leaking from the filter and soiling the cambelt, depending on the nature of the problem that's quite a gamble to take. Maybe Skoda realise this as they charge about £200 for a new one.

Try to find a second hand!

yeah that was the fear but the cam belt looked ok (thankfully as was only changed a couple months back prior to the filter leaking.)

Ill keep an eye for discounted new, still frustrating that other housing units are far cheaper.

many similar looking types but i wouldnt know which hose went where on  a different type :(

My particular one last letter B

3CO 127 400B not many for sale on eBay. Like you rather get the correct one than even a slight different model in case it's not compatible. However the eBay ones look as rusty as mine was. I do like the steel topped ones with seems skoda realised and made changes to prevent the rust top.
