Head unit for Rapid 2013

Hi Everyone

 

I am new to this forum, and this is my first post!
I have just bought a used Skoda Rapid from 2013 and I am absolutely loving it! The only thing is, that the head unit is a but outdated, so i am looking to upgrade to a DIN2. Are there any newer head units out there, that will fit nicely? Do all skoda-designed headunits have the same "borders"?

Welcome Thomas. The 2013 came with Blues, Swing or Amundsen+  (RNS315) which are all fitting the same size dash surround.

Upgrading to the bigger screen nav system Columbus is possible, but I think the HU may have a different surround.

 

Search the Rapid section for "Columbus" (which is the RNS510) to find earlier threads on the upgrade.

You could try an OEM-look Android unit.

I’d go alpine if I was upgrading mine but I have the Amundsen+  (RNS315) and a few other audio upgrades...

I think the columbus look pretty good, but obviously I am a bit concerned about the fitment of the trim. There doesn't seem to be any "adaptor" trim available... Do you think it would be a direct swap?

Also, do you think a 2017 columbus would fit?

I don't think the new Columbus is compatible.
