Buying a Rapid 1.0tsi Spaceback advice
My 2017 110 is absolutely torque free and needs far too many gear changes. I hated it at first but have got used to it over 8 years. Like every other 1.0 turbo I've driven it is economical only within a very small envelope. 70 mph or slower, no hills or headwinds. Otherwise it really starts to guzzle. Oh and the turbo actuator failed at about 16000 miles, even earlier than my 1.2 did (26000) The 1.2 is a far superior drive. I still regret swapping it for the 1.0.

What Tyres are quiet and not a hard ride ?
I had 2 Rapids on those 215/40 17s. and driven others as well. It is possible to get comfort in that tyre size. SO in this exact size and on Rapids,,, I found the OEM Dunlop SPORTMAX horrible & harsh though grippy The newer OEM Bridgestone RE050A is noisy and jiggly riding. The Old OEM Conti PremiumContact 2 was quiet & smooth riding and nearly as grippy as the Dunlop. Currently using on a Rapid 1.0TSi Falken Ziex 914 ECORUN which are as good as the CONTIS were but much cheaper.

Sport or Black edition
Sport was an early model with 17 alloys, different seats and no kit. Black edition was a limited one with 17s, more toys, almost specced up like a SEAT Toledo which always came with loads of kit. That's what I'd get, the Black one, or the identical Toledo on 17s. SE Nav, I-Tech, or Style Advanced models.

Le Mans 2021
Fast Forward to 2023 and Ferrari's first Works win since '64 at Le Mans. Of course the modern style of motorsport fan greets it with disdain, the usual Max versus Lewis fanboys, posting that the Balance of Performance adjustments robbed Toyota. Quite apart from ignoring that Toyota and Ferrari had big weight increases prior to the event, clearly they don't read English too well. 2 manufacturers seconds apart after 24 hours with a third maker only a lap behind seems almost perfectly balanced performance to me.

2023 F1
AM have recently sold a bigger share of the main company to Geely. Stroll is a businessman first and foremost. When the figures no longer stack up, will we be looking at China's first F1 team?

Replacing Infotainment system
Over the years on here Rapid people have seemed quite keen on Xtrons Android HU models. Rather better value than VAG factory items.

2017 USB data port not working.
in the early years of the Rapid that MDI (interface) was notoriously flaky, and very cable quality dependent, as to whether your phone or iPod would talk to the HU. In other cars too (Renault Group) I have found that cheap cables scupper the Android Auto connection.

2022 F1
What a year for RedBull. Despite the sour taste left by the budget shenanigans this is Adrian Newey's most dominant car ever. Better than any of his Williams McLaren or earlier RedBulls. In race trim its perfomance is crushing. Plenty of downforce yet seemingly much less drag than the others. It doesn't matter where Max qualifies he just blasts past them all on the straights. Newey is a genius.

2022 F1
2021 is the first year of the controlled cost cap??
-
2022 F1
Today Red Bull and Aston are accused by the FIA of proven cheating, exceeding the spending cap for 2021. RedBull by less than 5% so classified as a minor breach. Ferrari team boss Binotto says 5% equals 0.5 seconds a lap, so its significant. What will the punishment be? Did overspending make their 2021 cars faster, their 2022 cars faster or both?

Is it a compulsory change at 5 years, or after a condition check?

MotoGP 2022 (and previous season back to 2018)
I never thought this season would be so close after Fabio built such a huge points lead. Exciting races coming up.

BTCC
7 ponts cover the top 3 with one meeting to go. And Turkington is only 27 back with 67 up for grabs. Shame I cant go to Brands Hatch.

2022 F1
2 teams have been found to have exceeded the FIA cost cap last year, one of them substantially. Will said teams be punished retrospectively for 2021? Punished for overspend on R&D for 2022? Or punished for gaining a lasting advantage into 2023? If it's brushed under the carpet, the cost cap is dead.

Possibly John Watson in a McLaren. Ah no, spun off the kerb at Lesmo 2.

2022 F1
Engine penalty rules are ridiculous, as is RBR's straight line speed advantage. Max can afford to take the just 5 place penalty to have a new engine he doesn't even need yet. Should have to start from the back every time when using extra engines. He'll probably be in the lead by lap 3.

Peco on a run of 4 straight wins. Can he catch Fabio?
-
2022 F1
Well it's amazing what he can do now he has such a big car advantage. Hes been so close to the front in inferior RedBulls for many years. Now it's competitive the others don't have a chance.

2022 F1
Max is 9/4 for fastest lap at Bet365. but also 7/4 for the win. I think he will win it from 15th on the grid.

0.6? What fuel loads did they have on? What engine modes?

2022 F1
Fastest 3 guys today all starting at the back due to drivetrain penalties. Max Charles and Lando. Race could be looking like a gift for Carlos, since Checo is slow today too.

Adding radio station logos on an Amundsen infotainment system
It was easy when I last did it 2 years ago. My MIB2 amundsen has all the electronics in the glove box with 2x SD slots. One slot holds the Nav SD, so put all logos in a folder on another SD card in the spare slot. Select System Update (I have no recall of which menu its in). Follow the prompt to select your folder of logos. Takes seconds. Restart head unit. Done.
