Early days with my used Scout

Featured Replies

Perhaps the second best vehicle I have owned. Have fond memories of my mk 2 Renault Espace withover 100,000 miles in my use. Two weeks in, I am impressed with the car but less so with the tow ball and electrics. Years of neglect need sorting - have cleaned and lubed the Witter detachable towball. Need finish cleaning out the socket and fit a replacement cover. Will need to fit a second 7 pin socket as first attempt hit the ground after 20 metres - perhaps due to the weight of my E bike and an abrupt ground slope change. Should have tried to undo the upper mount but two hours removing the socket ( seized nuts that wouldn’t sheer or allow the heads to be drilled and  brackets that were rusted).  Next dry day will attack that bolt that may have given rotation.

To drive it is excellent. Boot space is excellent but why can’t I remove the cover? Seats down step is greater than expected - despite my age had contemplated the odd night sleeping in the rear.
