67 plate idling rough

Featured Replies

HI guys,,

Am wondering if anybody can give me a few idea s of what my problem could be , ive bought a 67 plate 1.6 diesal  its now covered 24.000mls now from sept ,

the problem am now getting is when i start the car from cold in the mornings is that its idling rough for about 2 mins until the revs go up, it doesnt feel smooth at all,

but once its warm its a great running car starts fine ,just from cold lying over night is the problem, its going into skoda (edinburgh) next week

its had all its services since new .

I have similar behaviour and the garage suggested changing the fuel filter at the next service. Not been in for the next service yet, so cannot confirm that changing the fuel filter helps but seems to be worth a try.

If the filter is blocked, wouldn't you get the problem all the time?

HI GUYS, well where do i start , after my first posts back in march i think about this cold start problem, now my car is on 33k  when the car was in for its last service my guy heard a noise that sounded like a faulty injector, back then i got the car in to skoda , they couldnt find any problems as the car started without a splutter after leaving it over night with them, so i was happy with that and just put it down to the car being normal, but 2 days ago its running ruff and sounding bad i got the car straight in to skoda again, now the top tech guy says yes this is a problem as he could feel a littile back presure on the air box pipe and could hear it running like an auld cow, he said it could be a valve spring broken but not sure until he strips it down , i cannot believe this  being still a new car....... now for the fun part my service history arent skoda parts will this still be covered on my warranty am a little concerned  any idea of costs involve if i have to fork out.
