Anyone had a towbar fitted? Someone has mentioned a problem if a heated steering wheel is fitted

I have had towbar prep fitted as an extra so i can add a towbar at a later date. not paying £850 for a factory fitted one. don't know about heated steering wheel 

I have been looking for a tow bar as well the only place I have found I can get one is a genuine part from TPS at around £450 

 I contacted Westfalia and they don’t list one yet which is a bit strange as they make the factory fit bars 

That must be Westfalia's choice because Skoda / VW could not restrict them from selling, that would be a restriction of a Free Market in the EU 

and look like some Cartel.   VW group would never be that silly. Not when under investigation with other manufacturers over Cartel type agreements on Ad-blue tank sizes, hardware costs, part pricing etc.

I dont think there's any think sinister about it ,they just havent put one in there catalog yet.

After looking in to fitting a tow bar I have found out some info 

• the kit which incloods wiring socket bar it’s self and control unit isn’t available from Skoda or TPS no date on availability 

• it will need a cooling modification in the form of a new radiator fan and cowling a step up from a 3.2kw to 4kw and a new radiator grill with bigger holes 

I’m unable to find out if this is part of tow bar prep but I suspect it is 

• witter list a bar but isn’t available yet
