I ve just bought a 1999 skoda pickup 1.9d. I ve fixed a few faults, thanks to post on this page. 

(water temp gauge and i m going to try sealing leaking windscreen)

I have loads of play in the gear lever. Are there bushes? is so anyone know what size ?

Depends on where that play is. I think most common is joint nearest to gearbox. There are steel inserts which wear out. Spare number is 6U0711458, pins can be replaced by screw.
