Garmin Dashboard Mount

Featured Replies

Greetings,

Maybe this should be in the technology section, but the query is not technology based more mounting based. More specifically on a Superb II dashboard to fit in the gap between the instrument pod and the A Post over the vent.

I'm wondering if anyone has used or is using either of the Garmin brand friction mounts (the beanbag type [Garmin part 010-10908-00]  or better still the "sticky bottom" one [Garmin Part 010-11280-00]) and if you have

  1. are these any good compared to the standard windscreen mount? and
  2. will either fit where I want it to fit? - see above.

I've used a beanbag type from Halfords, but that's quite large and will only fit in the middle of the dash and whilst it works to a point I can't get used to my SatNav being in the middle of the car.

I'm looking at these new mounts for when I use our Garmin 770 for towing the 'van. Unfortunately it's a big b***** and with the windscreen mount it obscures more of the view than I would like. Mounting the family Garmin 50LM satnav there is OK.

I hope someone can help.

ps - I think I've searched all of the Briskoda forums without finding an answer. Apologies if I've missed something.
