Rear electric windows and folding mirrors??

Featured Replies

Hi,

My 2010 Superb has an issue, the key fob will not now operate the electric folding mirrors. They still work from the in car switch/dial.

Also the key fob will neither open nor close the electric windows.

And the rear driver side electric window will not work via any method. The rear passenger electric window has suddenly gone iffy too. just about opened and closed after several attempts.

All the above happened at the same time.

Any ideas??

Thanks muchly.

cabling broken in drivers door rubber grommet. best guess

Hi, you were spot on.

I removed rubber boot and a broken wire is the culprit alright. Thanks.

Is there any way to remove this section of loom to repair, finding it very hard to get enough room to repair?

lots of other threads on this, personally I would find a way of holding the gaiter (boot) back rather than cutting it.

Most people seem to prefer heat shrink and soldering which would be my choice too.

What a pig of a job! Thanks for the advice. I had to remove door card and pull loom back out to get enough room to solder and heat shrink.

Now have an airbag warning light on. Have checked under seat as well as door wires and all ok. Will I need vcds to reset airbag warning light?

you will. check the vcds owners map for someone local.
