Windscreen company damaged my windscreen

Featured Replies

I am compiling evidence - luckily I have cctv but this does not pick up the damage.

The techncian Ian said he used a tissue to wipe the screen on his report but had no tissue in his hand and wedding band on - this caused the scratch.

He he also put it was the wiper sweep and must have been a stone - the wipers go at a different angle.

Ive lodged a complaint with ******** and have insisted on a genuine Skoda replacement screen.

If you do get someone out for a chip repair - make sure they are gloved up and take photos of your screen before hand.

Thy have initially offered to drop my glass excess to £20 - as per the initial operator ‘what proof have you got’

I have now now got to trust them to fit a new screen - I’ve insisted on a different fitter and will have to take it in to a depot due to the lane assist camera.

Really ruined my day off.

And the chip was not one they could repair as was a ‘surface chip’ - not mot failure but spoilt my car I felt.

Know ive got a scratch right in my eyeline.

Its very dificult to photo graph scratches on glass by the way if you ever try.
