Error not charging battery

Featured Replies

My Mk3 Octavia vRS TDi has recently developed what the main dealer refers to as a sporadic error code relating to the battery & start/stop system. It usually comes on when driven hard, these error codes appear on the dash and remain for sometimes 15 minutes, or even the entire journey. The car is used for long commutes between 35 and 120 miles at a time. The error appeared 2 days before the warranty expired.  They claim that the alternator and battery are working fine but the stop start doesn't seem to deploy at times. They cleared the errors and said it should be fine.  On the drive home the error codes reappeared, so it's booked in again for further diagnostics.  Has anyone experienced this and more importantly, how was it cured?  My car is a 2015 model & It has Full Skoda main dealer service history.  Many thanks

Good job it was 2 days before the warranty run out and not 2 days after.

My better half’s Yeti has an electrical fault that turned out to be a failed environmental sensor that happened at 3 years 3 days old, luckily I had taken the factory extended 5 year warranty which I had to remind the dealer of, else I’d have ended up with a right bill and possibly lots of moaning emails. I worry that with electrical items the dealers seem to struggle. I had to keep on at them till it was sorted.

I hope you get it sorted promptly and will be interested to find out what it was. Keep on at the dealer to get it resolved especially if it’s easily repeatable.

good luck and best wishes
