Hello all, I am a new Skoda owner having just purchased an Octavia Scout 2.0TDI (2015). Although me mum has had a Fab for a when and loves it. I am a Brit living in Germany with my wife and kids and hope to use this community to help support me with advice on servicing and the such where my German won't support me. My cousin suggested you having had a RS Octavia. Thanks in advance for any support you can give or answers and I can't wait to chat with like minded members.

Yes, although kent had more snow than us this year!!! I have the green tech ambition. Decided to go fuel economy over Extras this time. We cover a few miles driving between Berlin, Bavaria, England and Norway and with the confusion over diesels here in Germany, a Euro 6 was the main priority. 

Hahaha... thats complicated travelling. Fuel economy sounds the right choice, though heated seats, heated screen and snow plough attachment would have been handy.

 

Is there more concern in Germany over diesels than here? Sales have dropped sharply.

I live in a remote area so the noxious fumes aren't such an issue but fuel economy is so diesels still make sense. 

It is a total shambles. There was a prolonged court case after Stuttgart announced a ban. It was upheld. The government in Berlin has remained quiet and said it is a state by state affair. But iteaves us all in the dark. Euro 6, all new clean oil burners are or should be exempt from a city ban, but 5 badge cars are dodgy. Vw group now offers full refunds on all new cars bought should your home city ban them within 3 years, skoda 4 years. Toy motor has announced it will no longer sell diesels in germany. Hermit, or as you would be known here in Berlin, Herr Mit I agree on the snow plough options. Mind you, elk radar detection is a must after a few scares last time out. Nearly wrote my 530 off on the arse of one at 4 am!!!!
