is replacing front torsion bar bushings DIY?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Front suspension developed creaking over the winter when crossing speed bumps - when mounted the summer tires I kind of remember seeing the torsion bar clamp and bushings and they looked pretty accessible for a DIY job (if my memory serves right).

Thinking about replacing them - are there any surprises to prepare for ? (on my last car it would have been a subframe drop action, so all I could do was to inject silicone between the clamp and bushing using a medical syringe and needle, which worked OK but did not last long).

thanks,

T.

Thank you, very informative. So I guess currently my best bet is applying more silicone...
