Accelerator pedal

Maybe I'm just unlucky but I replaced my accelerator pedal with a new part to cure the high idle (lift pedal, rpm goes back down) just under 2 years later and it's back with a vengeance (lost the receipt) every journey, wouldn't mind so much if they were cheap enough, think it cost me the best part of £100, shame there's no way of stripping it down and fixing it, guess I'll be buying another pedal

Is there a spring that can be Replaced?

 

I had a quick search and found there’s two in the pedal apparently although I’d its a new pedal I doubt they’d be that worn. Have you tried replacing the pedal position sensor?
