6K Which Version.

Featured Replies

After thinking i may be in the market for a mk2 Vrs petrol I get up close and personal to a mk2 Facelift, and it's owner lol. It was on a 59 Plate 1 owner from new, but a diesel. My initial 5k budget was for a pre facelift but after seeing his car i'm warming to up the budget.

So 6k facelift with say less than 80k, realistic? Petrol preferred.

I've always preferred petrol over diesel so when looking for a car I don't consider the diesel variants.  I do less than 10k miles a year and much prefer the driving experience of a petrol.  Having had my pre fl petrol remapped, it has a lot more low down torque than standard.  This way I get to use the low end grunt when cruising but when needed I can get the petrol fix and hold onto the revs, which I wouldn't get with a diesel.

It's down to what you want from the car and how you intend to use it.  Drive both and see which you prefer.

Thanks.

it will definitely be a petrol version :)

Surely petrol my friend.

Notice those engines better prefer good quality of fuel, 97 plus, and it will give its best it has.

As being turbo and especially direct injection it would be easy to build up things in inlet etc with low quality unless you use in almost 2-3 tanks additives..

High revs can give you much power longer lasting than diesels but diesels have more torqued power in low range revs but for shorter periods so then you will reach up quite fast in 6th while with petrol you would be in 5th or even easily in still 4th...!

But depends mostly what you like and have in mind..

My fault. Thread was more towards am I likely to get a good face lift for 6k, or get a better pre face lift for the same money
