FL Scout with Variable Boot Floor - Pics?

Featured Replies

My dealer has retro-fitted a VBF into our Scout, (it was requested/included as an extra in the sale price), but they are waiting for "luggage hooks" to arrive, as they didn't come with the other parts.

For the time being, I'm left with a hole in each side panel where these hooks are supposed to fit.

I've looked at the pics on page 4 of Sasha's thread and there are no hooks in the same position on her DIY VBF retro-fit, so I'm left wondering if the Scout has a slightly different VBF.

Has anyone got a FL Scout with a VBF? If so, would you mind posting some pics of the boot side panels? (I'm intrigued to know what it is that the dealer is waiting on).

Cheers  :)

cant spill

It depends, the side panels may have been supplied with the netting package extra which includes extra D rings either side of the boot :)

That sounds feasible, given the holes are cut right through the side panel, exposing the steel body of the car behind - they're not simply a recessed part of the panel with a couple of holes for fixing bolts, (as is the case elsewhere), which is why I was curious as to what will eventually fill the holes. For the time being I've covered them over with the hook part of some Velcro I had lying around so nothing loose can disappear, forever...

The offending hole(s) (Both sides)

Have tried Googling images but can't find an equivalent set up anywhere...

Typically I cannot find an image, but that’s most definitely for the D ring on each side to tie loads down with. If you have the net package, you can’t easily use them with the floor up without extra tethering points. They’ll have nice chrome rings on them too :)

Cool. B)

This'll make you laugh...

I printed off pg.4 of your thread, where you described/photograph the process of fitting the VBF, and left it lying in the boot when the car went in to get it fitted.

The guy who did the job asked if I'd left it. When I 'fessed up, he said it was "really useful" to have - so thanks from him (and from me!). :)

Yep, that’s what you’ll have. A nice touch IMO :)
