DIY clutch click fix?

Featured Replies

My 2014 Citigo has just developed the infamous clutch click. Annoyingly it was fine until yesterday but it had always had a creak when pressing it so I lubricated it with silicone spray which cured the creak perfectly but as of this morning I now get the click every time.  It's over a year out of warranty and from what I've read Skoda consider it a "feature" of the clutch design (!).

I'm fairly handy so I'm keen to try and fix it myself. I noticed that if I press the pedal with sideways pressure it goes away most of the time so it seems to be a mechanical alignment issue.

Anyone be able to DIY fix it?

If it needs a new pedal assembly has anyone done it themselves?

My car had a new pedal under warranty. 40,000 miles but my car does have a five year warranty. Next thing needing checking is a clicking from the o/s drive shaft.

My wife's first Mii had to have the fix. They replaced the complete pedal box and a couple of thrust bearings.

Oddly, the clutch click didn't happen once yesterday when I drove it to work (70 mile round trip, mostly motorway).

I'm guessing this is temporary though.
