fuel recomendations

Featured Replies

Now the proud owner of a Fabia 1.4 twin charger vrs, I know it states to run on 98 ron, but what fuel do you the other proud owners use. Tesco Momentum is my closest, there is an Esso but lower ron I think, Shell is about 7 mile in the opposite way from work. Advice please

Tesco Momemtum 99 is easy good enough and 1st choice for most, but Shell nitro 99 is always my first choice, Costco (Super) fuel if you have an account is also good and a lot cheaper than Shell and Tesco. Unfortunately not many about local. Have never used any other supermarket fuel other than tesco momemtum

My reasons for Shell

1) Car runs slightly better

2) Shell card

3) Bigger forecourt

4) Can pump tyres up & get a coffee

You need to drive North to get your fuel.

Big Tesco Filling Station Forecourts, Tesco Express Stores, Costco or other coffees. Use a Santanda 123 card and get 3 pence in the pound back and still swipe your Tesco Club Card,

99 Ron Minimum and sometimes 100 octane so all the ethanol you want and about £2.25 a tank less expense than Royal Dutch Shell V-Power Nitro + with maybe the same detergent package as the other 99 ron minimum just secret.  (Sodium)

Twinchargers need detergents like they need a hole in a head, or more accurately like they need a hole in a piston.

Or Bore wash.... Watch for those 'detergents when there is  Long Life oil used as the 2nd biggest car manufacturer in the world uses and recommends!

We have a Tesco filling station in the village so it's always Momentum 99 for us, there is also a Shell relatively close but it is a motorway services and an awful lot more expensive than the Tesco, sometimes 20p a litre more for the Shell stuff.

We've had no problems running with Tesco Momentum, also use it in my Abarth and again no problems.
