vRS 2010 FL Estate Comfort Control Module

Featured Replies

Hey guys, long time no see.

Still Got my Combi...........yay!

I had some issues a while back with my RH Fog light staying constantly lit, I had to disable them through the VCDS, and unplug them.

No many people had had this fault, but had the indicator stick on.

Now I believe it was the CCM at fault...............over time id forgot about it.

But I'm now looking at getting It sorted, does anybody know the Part number for the CCM? and where its located? I think its in the glove box area, is there more than one CCM?

Thanks in Advance

Vinnie

Got a VCDS autoscan?

In a 2010, it'll probably be a BCM (part number starting 1K0 937 08...) which is in the drivers footwell. Super easy to get to as I've had mine in and out a few times.

Only issue you're likely to have is the lighting configuration. If the BCM is not from a RHD vRS it'll need correcting and VCDS can't do it. You'll need either VCP or ODIS-e.

Yeah mines an early 2010 Face Lifted model,

Ill be getting one from a breakers to test it, but they need a part number, even though the car they are breaking is identical to mine.

I have got VCDS yes, is the BCM the larger looking ECU? with multiple connectors?

It'll be address 09 in vcds.

It's probably about 15-20cm square and 3cm thick. It should have three connectors, black, white and a brown/gold colour :-)

Righto ill have a look when weather behaves ;)

I changed the BCM on mine after it started playing up. I don't think it was from a VRS as the lights were not functioning correctly but I copied and pasted the coding from the original and everything started working correctly and still is a year or so later.

That sounds complicated haha.

Maybe you can do mine :D:D om on the edge of Lincolnshire ha

Sure I can help with the coding if you need it

ive got VCDS, and used it to Code for HID's rear Number LED's etc, but don't know how to copy and paste.

Ill need to be careful swapping stuff over, as it took me ages to get it to work right on current BCM, without dash lights etc.

Although the fog issue happened before I did the tinkering and added HID etc.

You just need to copy the long coding from your original and save it in a document such as note pad or word. When you have fitted the new unit just delete the long code and paste your original back in. (highlight text you want to copy then right click on the mouse to give you the copy, paste etc options)

@dilksie what's your byte 18 set to and which revision of BCM do you have?

Just curious as typically on a FL Octavia byte 18 is 00. This means none of the 255 lighting options are completely correct and instead it's done by directly editing the lighting configuration in the BCM eeprom/memory. If there is a valid byte 18 for a RHD vRS it'll be very useful to others.

@VelocityVinnie it's worth saving both an autoscan and adaption map for the BCM before removing the old one. If anything goes wrong they can be used to correct most issues.

After fitting, you'll need to copy the lcode as mentioned by dilksie, check the adaptions match and finally pair both key fobs to allow them to unlock/lock the car.

It's only 5-10 minutes and nothing too difficult :-)

haha I'm sure I can manage it, as I did do all the coding for the HIDs, etc.

Just need to find a replacement BCM??

My BCM is a 1K0 937 087 D, the original was a 1K0 937 087 J which I couldn't find at a realistic price on e-bay so took the gamble with the D version and luckily everything worked. I'm sure the coding for byte 18 still showed as 00 when I copied from the original. (long code is 46180AB8E07BB1C0C0180080310091EC477800AF737D8560C60440040040 )
