DAB Sound Quality

Featured Replies

Hi all - hope everyone's well.

We collected our 1.5tsi Edition today - spot on, can't wait to get out on a proper run.

One gripe so far is that the audio quality is pants when listening to DAB vs Bluetooth. I know the bitrate of DAB broadcasts is not amazing, but I've never heard such a difference in other cars. We've got the standard speakers running from a Collumbus head unit. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same?

Hi LBFS

Congrats on new car! I collected my Edition on Friday!

I have noticed the quality difference but unfortunately it's my first car with DAB so I cannot really compare!

But I heard the difference between DAB + Bluetooth immediately!

It's very good in mine but I do have the Canton fitted.

Don't really listen to bluetooth, but I find the DAB sounds pretty good to me, no difference to listening to the SD media.

I'm really happy with the standard columbus setup, nice bass which was my main worry.

I was 50/50 on adding Canton so not too upset I didnt now.

I thought the DAB sound quality was really good, I cranked it up the other day and was well impressed.

Pleased to hear it. The option I have been most anxious about not choosing has been the canton sound system!
