Navigation update question

Featured Replies

I have a 2016 Superb with a Columbus unit.  I wish to update the navigation maps.  The Business Manager at my dealer showed me an options page on his computer which allowed him to choose which maps to update, i.e. all of Europe or U.K. only.

Having tried the Skoda portaI at home all I can obtain is an update for the entire system.  Currently, I would prefer an update for the U.K. only as I have no intention of taking the car abroad.  It would be quicker to do.  I will update the entire system in three or four years but the U.K. is important to me now.  I drive hospice patients to and from and I need the latest U.K. maps to be able to find them, especially with the amount of new building development going on around where I live.  I spoke to Skoda Customer Care and as usual they were of no help whatsoever.

Has anyone come across this option and if so where/how do I find it?

Thank you.

try Waze or Google Map, builtin Nav is like from previous century

files on Škoda's portal are publicized with month or two delay,

firstly updates come for VW and that files are completely compatible

chose -> Volkswagen -> Passat 2014 -> Discover Pro ->

there is wrote "Updated: 2018/01/17", but that is exactly same file as publicized 2017.11

Aren't we due an update this month?

Don’t know if it is different with the 9.2” Columbus but when I connected the car to home WiFi and then go to the updates menu, I could choose which maps to update from a huge list of European maps. I used this to just update the 3 or 4 France area maps before driving there back in March.

@ivan8192, I think you have hit on the difference.  I only have the 8 inch screen and I suspect the satnav was improved in other ways with the new screen, i.e. increased flexibility in updating maps for one.  I went back to Skoda Customer Care and they confirmed that the only way on my car was to update the lot.

Thank you for your help, Folks.
