From Italian style to Germany efficency

Hello all

Next weekend I am picking up my first Skoda, a 2015 Race Blue Mk3 diesel Octavia VRS estate .

This is my first Skoda but another in a long line of VAG cars. Between my wife and I we have had an A3 170 Quattro, A4 130 Tdi saloon, A4 2.5 Tdi convertible, A4 2.5 Quattro estate, A5 3.0 coupe, S3 (265 chipped to 300bhp) and a Q5 2.0tdi.

My last two cars while my wife had the Q5 were Alfa Romeo Giulietta 2.0tdi"s, first 2011 170 bhp veloce and most recently a 2014 150 QV Line.

After realising the Alfa was getting a bit to small in the back for my rapidly growing daughter and the fact that I needed a bigger boot along with a towbar for a 6x4 trainer, I decided to look round for a replacement car before committing to a towbar on the Alfa.

In stepped Research Alfa who I bought my latest Gulietta from, they have exactly the Skoda I was looking for, nearly identical spec to my 2014 guilietta but with an extra 30bhp and all the load lugging space I require! So a deal has been done and next weekend I will be travelling 400 miles to exchange cars and 400 miles back in the Octavia!

Hopefully it makes me smile as much as my latest Gulietta which produces  150bhp/280lbs torque and being reasonable light has been a great fun car especially overtaking in Dynamic mode.

Thank you for reading

Toby.
