Fuses missing or

Featured Replies

My front washers, rear wiper, central locking, just stopped so I checked the fuses none of which seem to conform to the manual or the card in the dash end fuseboard, some are the wrong amps some are just not there I ran a scan and a shed load of issues popped up then the glowplug light started to flash, I am tempted to just clear them get a load of correct fuses and put them in,,,,,, but what is  right Mr haynes or the card which I think just shows fuses for every conceivable extra under the sun, if anyone has a MK2 fuse layout intact could I have a pic please

My experience might not be helpful but this weekend I had some weird experience. I was working with my car and it started to rain. I drove in the garage and wanted to clear the windscreen. The wipers didn't work at all. Tried it several times - no luck at all. Right before that I was testing the battery so I thought that maybe it could have caused some damage. All the other electronics worked well, even the rear wiper. Checked the fuses too. Indeed, there are not all of them but probably it depends on the car. If you have no headlight wipers or some other stuff then probably some fuses might not be present.

In the very end it was the open bonnet that caused all this stuff :)

Sometimes the fuse 'card' in the cover at the end of the dash shows the fuses layout for a left hand drive model. As you car is a right hand drive check that the actual fuse board is mirror image of the card.
