Skoda Yeti S TSI 2013

Featured Replies

Hi all

Very excited to have joined the Skoda Yeti club (and about to become parents hence the bigger car investment)..!

However, we bought the car without thinking too hard about the media and we have realised we've really bought the most basic model (albeit a pristine lovely thing) and are feeling a bit anxious about whether we're going to be able to upgrade the media system so we can play music through blue tooth with proper fixed controls etc (eg not just an adaptor which means stopping the car to fiddle with the phone). Has anyone upgraded their media system and if so how did they do it and how much did it cost?

Secondly, there's a slightly odd strong deep hollow hum from the back/underside? of the car that appears in 1st and 2nd gears (goes fairly quickly to be fair). I'm noticing more than my husband. Any thoughts on what this might be?

Lastly, urgh... I'm not finding it as comfy as I felt on the test drive - bit short and the head rest feels like it's slightly pushing my neck out. Any solutions to be recommended? I'm sure car cushions are available that will sort it but any suggestions from people in the know would be awesome!

Many thanks

Laurie

I don’t think any 2013 model had Bluetooth, all came later.   From memory about all you got then was an aux in socket (which effectively allows you to play output via the headphone jack onto the car speakers).  There are some threads about upgrading the media to later versions.

The headrests (strictly head restraints) might be at wrong height, but it could be other things such as angle of back which is tilted wrongly (part reclined) and not giving correct posture thus causing extra pressure.  Remember the one thing you can’t move is the pedals, but you can move steering wheel and seat, so work upwards when adjusting them until it is comfortable.  The previous owner may have been different shape and has set them in odd positions.

Stereo can be upgraded whenever you feel like it your not stuck with the standard fit.

I’ve had a humming yeti it was down to the rear tyres being old and abit out of round.

Also depends on the model of head unit. Some late 2013 with Columbus have bluetooth as an option and it was standard on the second half of 2013 L&Ks.

My 2013, 63 plate, 13 and 14 mix up L&K has bluetooth and I can control my Spotify with my MFSW. Love it.
