Octavia tail opening latch won't work

Featured Replies

Hello there . My Octavia 2007 elegance tail gate will now operate with the fob only which operates the release motor the rubber latch on the tail no longer operates the release motor.

Anyone out there cured this ?

I noticed a forum on this with similar problems , but no solutions .

Thanks

I have the same problem, I had the changed the lock release motor bottom under trim by spare wheel well plus release catch and rubber latch. But still had the same problem.

On closer inspection I found the cable connecting to rubber release catch one of the pins had bit of corrosion and on female connector I could see that dampness had cause damage to the pin.

In the end I just cleaned the connectors but still have the problem.

I would check the connection between rubber latch and wiring loom under the rear tail gate.
