Custom Brembo Big Brake kit

Recommended Posts

I’m super excited about this kit that I have just picked up.

Ive done a buy on some brand new 4 pot Brembos, “massive” c hook discs, braided hoses, adapters and bolt kit and pads.

Had been looking at various BBK options as I fancied some Porsche items for the Porsche logo behind the wheels.
And by accident I found a guy/company that is just around the corner from me that puts together BBK as well as other custom motorsport parts, got chatting, and placed an order.

These are brand new calipers, not refurbished items, brand new with a warranty.

Will be getting my OCD on and giving them a polish and then Gtechniq C5 applying to it all so it’s stays clean and shiny.

These discs make the standard 312mm items look tiny. A little concerned about clearance to the wheel now, but I’ll cross that bridge should it be an issue, probably by buying bigger wheels. Lol!

Just have to find some time to fit them onto my 2010 fl vRS estate CR :)

Hope you don’t mind me asking but how much did they set you back?

£880 all in.

They do various options on pads, discs, hoses which changes the price, so its probably best to make contact and see what they can do for what your after.

Mocked up the new brake install on a bucket today to double check wheel fitment.
Glad I did as it showed that even with 15mm spacers already fitted the wheel fouls the front of the caliper.

Bigger spacers needed. 20mm should do it just fine (checked this with the 15mm already fitted plus a 5mm universal spacer I had around)

With 15mm spacer

Excuse the dirty wheels (will be washed on Monday after I have got a few miles on the new discs and pads)

The 20mm spacer is too much. Wheels look to far out.
Already order up a 15mm one to swap.

Looks so cool mate ! I am looking for a big brake set also, found this v Maxx one at about 900. But first I’ll get new wheels in a couple of weeks, I ve got zeniths on mine....boring.... Have a look at those ones, lightweight only 8.1 kg for a 8x 18.0ECD6441-F0B7-4D29-8B1B-4725DDB1807E.thumb.jpeg.486e0a8a85f2288e3376cbd1c6737578.jpegD6D8446F-9996-4940-82A5-F798843E98D3.thumb.jpeg.62f10c94718e88524a5ad10e961f2588.jpeg

Which are the dimensions of the discs? And what do you do about the rear ones?

I haven’t done anything to the rears yet, but when the discs and pads need changing I’m thinking of just changing discs and pads to same brand and style as fronts.

They don’t do a lot of braking and as I’m road use only there really isn’t a need to switch them up to BBK on the back I dont think.

Front discs are 345 x 30mm.

Thanks mate, less than 1000for Brembo 345mm is a good price. What’s the difference in braking , have you used them yet ? Also what do you think about 2forge alloys, gunmetal or black for white car?

No really done a lot of braking on them yet as I haven’t covered the bedding in mileage.

They are a massive improvement over the standard equipment though. Braking is hard and progressive with no drop off/heat soak.

Don’t get any vibration off the disc although I think there is a little running noise when they are rotating at road speeds.

I like the 2forge wheels (3rd ones pictured are my preference) and they would need to be gunmetal for me.

black can look like steels.

Don't the best part of 7000 miles on these now and they still put a massive smile on my face.

I've not had to do any work on them, still running the Brembo pads that I fitted initially, the bite is just insane but still very easy to drive around town and commute with as they are progressive.

I still surprise myself how quickly they can stop the car.

Both pads and discs have loads and loads of life left in them.
