7 speed dsg

Featured Replies

Hi fella's

I have recently purchased a 2012 1.6 Octavia with a dsg gearbox.

I am not sure if this is right but I have noticed when the vehicle is cold that in 1st and 2nd gear the car gets to about 3500 revs before changing gear. Once it's warmed up it's fine.

Is this normal behaviour?

Cheers

I've had a 1.4 7 speed for the past couple of weeks and not had any problems changing up or down. Light throttle and I'm getting shifts at around 1500 rpm with 6th gear at 30 and 7th at 40.

Might be worth scanning with VCDS if you can find someone local to do it, I have heard of iffy abs wheel speed sensors playing havoc with DSG changes. My 6 speed DSG (all be it in a passat) holds gears longer when trying to warm the engine up quickly for a Regen, otherwise temp doesn't seem to make any difference.

Was your car one that required the Service Campaign '34F7' and has it been done.

The Synthetic Oil changed to mineral oil and a software update carried out.  There should be a sticker in the spare tyre well if done.

Some 2012 DQ200 dsg did not get it because Skoda / VW said they had Mineral Oil from the factory and some are now having issues.  MCU failures.

PS

Anything regarding 6 speed wets really has little if nothing to do with DQ200 Twin Dry Clutch DSG.
