Vibration/resonance problem (split thread)

Featured Replies

Sorry if this is a bit OT, but I've just been searching Briskoda for ideas on my long term probelms with my octy 1.9 pd 130 (standard).

Since approx 10000 miles I've been having a gradually increasing vibration/resonance from about 1800rpm, dying away by about 2500rpm or so.

I'm now on 52k and the problem is much worse, and I'm experiencing vibration through the steering, clutch pedal and gear lever. Does this sound like the dual mass flywheel problem? From whats been written above it does to me, but I had the dm flywheel replaced under warranty to try to resolve this (at about 30k), at the same time as having the clutch plate and slave cylinder replaced. Didn't notice any difference at all. Since then I've had new intercooler (it split ! ), turbo, MAF, all to no avail.

Slipping clutch prompted dealer to investigate slave cylinder - which was faulty, and had lead to premature clutch wear.

When the turbo was replaced I was getting clutch slippage of major proportions, which reduced to zero over about a week. Is this normal?

Has anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing this? Skoda UK involved, ATMs have looked and driven and they acknowledge that there is a problem, but nobody can seem to identify what exactly is causing it. Its not been remapped, ever! I'm also asking them to investigate poor mpg and excessive smoking, and can't help but think that the two are interrelated.

HELP
