Suspension upgrade

Featured Replies

hi all ,

I am thinking of upgrading my suspension on my octavia mk1 vrs.  My last Octavia MK1  has Ap coilovers and suspension was quite firm, probably been too low didn't help.

so I am thinking  which coil overs to go for?  budget is up to £450 so but of a tight budget. I am also considering uprated shocks and springs as an alternative to coil overs?

opinions please?  lowering springs with shocks or coil overs?

Thanks

Depends on the condition of the roads in your area. If they are smooth (or as smooth as you can get in the UK) or you are planning on any track day action, then coil overs maybe the better option, although they do give quite a harsh ride. Personally i would go with lowered shocks and springs as they give a more compliant ride, couple that with some poly bushed suspension arms and rear beam, and you should have a decent handling motor.
