Unless you drive it like you stole it should be similar MPG or litres per 100km, you will get a big uplift in torque which could result in the traction control light working overtime on a wet road. The MK2 Octavia should increase from 168bhp or 170PS depending on what you prefer to approx. 200bhp or 205PS. Torque will increase to about 330lb/ft or 450NM. The later MK3 Octavia will up from 181bhp to about 215bhp or from 184PS to 220PS. Torque increases to about 345lb/ft or 470NM.If it's out of warranty (more than 3 years old) you may use up your tyres/brakes a bit sooner than a standard car, also best to check oil consumption on a regular basis to keep the engine sweet. For best gains could be an idea to use V-POWER Shell or BP Ultimate diesel. If your car is Petrol powered MK1 will produce about 230bhp or 234PS, MK2 about 250bhp or 254PS and the MK3 ranges from 270-315bhp or 274-320PS depending on whether VRS220/230/245. Cra with the VAG Diff and bigger brakes can cope with increases better than the older cars.

Should have said Cars with VAG diff.

@shyVRS245, why do you think Shell VPower will be better. Just curious.

ive used V power and esso basic diesel and noticed no difference whatsoever on a tuned MK3 . i used V Power over several months as well. My petrol Mk2 fabia it did make a difference but nothing with the diesel in my opinion.

Been using it for more than 15years and the tuner I use recommends it or Tesco Momentum, but I have seen the gains it gives on several of my cars on the rolling road even before re-mapping. It will generally give you an extra 20-30 miles per tank in my experience and don't underestimate the benefit of it cleaning your injectors because they can get blocked up using normal supermarket 95RON. Gains I have seen on MK1 Octavia power up from 177bhp to 190bhp and torque up from 177lb/ft to 193lb/ft just by using 98/99RON fuel without any re-map or other mods.My latest car VRS245 gave 248.6bhp standard and 294lb/ft torque which are gains of 7bhp and 21lb/ft just on the better fuel. Fuel consumption averages between 430-440 miles per 50 litre tank which is also impressive given the performance available. Remember this is my personal experiences over many years and I have been driving for over 35 years.

Have you rolling road tested them on both fuels for comparison otherwise it is purely how many miles per tank you can compare them on?

The OP asked about a diesel.

Millers Diesel Additive or others might be better in Regular Diesel rather than using Premium Diesel unless you are getting with a higher Cetane.

Sorry OT.

As for 'arnolds' Mk2 vRS Fabia 1.4 TSI (1,390 cc) twincharger 132kw minimum,

the recommended fuel was 98 Super, and the difference on a dyno is well tried and tested.  99 ron min Tesco Momentum 99 being lovely stuff.

As for Detergent / sodium (salt) with Shell V-Power Nitro + / Tesco Momentum 99,  Costco Super Unleaded, and then the 97 ron Super Unleaded's from ESSO, BP, TEXACO, GULF, Sainsbury in the UK then maybe that is not needed, especially where a TSI might suffer with Bore Wash,

But the Higher Octane is what you do want, and maybe not run with Long Life Oil with a TSI......   IMO / IME.
