Removal of Side moldings on octavia vrs

Featured Replies

I have just brought a WRC limited edition, but someone removed the decals (which is ok) but have also put some side moldings on (link the original VRS)

I know it is a wrc as it has every other feature (including the plaque)

and I was told by the dealer it was a limited edition which had decals on originally

how easy would it be to removed them and would they leave any holes.

so what I am asking is on the Octavia how are the side moldings (running along the side of the car) fixed are ther just stuck on?

Thanks in advance

i'm guessing your talking about the bump strips down the side of the car? black in colour?

i wasnt aware the WRC didnt have them on in the first place, are you sure the WRC doesnt have them?

maybe they are normally colour coded?

ColinD !!! please assist

I have been doing some research and the all have them missing

see http://octaviars.com/cars_wrc.htm

as I say mine is identical apart from the decals removed (dealer sold when new and said the decals were on when new, that was before I had even heard of the wrc model) and side bump strips.

Don't want to pull them off and fine holes in my doors. lol.

anway just to let you all know I have gone from a diesel focus to this vehicle and all I can say I am loving every minute.

The plastic door moulding strips are just stuck on with double sided tape so there are no holes in the door skin,i removed mine no problem:thumbup:

If they are just stuck on it is much easier and less chance of damaging your paintwork if you either heat them with a hairdryer or pour a kettle of freshly boiled water over them (but not at the same time :RIP: ). this warms up the glue which makes it easier to take the mouldings off. Makes it easier to get rid of any residue too.
