RE: 312mm brake upgrade.

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Does anyone know what cars have 312mm front and 272mm rear caliper carriers? I am looking for the dust covers for the rear as well.

I am looking at upgrading the brakes on my Mk 3 Octavia (2.0 TDI 150) as I find the 288's vague under medium to heavy braking.

Many thanks

George..

Audi tt mk1 has 312mm on the front. Possibly the mk4 golf 4motion 272mm for the rear.

I have no idea if those calipers would fit your mk3 Octavia though.

I did the brake upgrade on my Mk1 Fabia VRS I got the 312mm brakes and carriers for the front off an Octavia VRS Mk1 and the 272mm rears off of a golf v5 the rear brake carriers off 4motions/Quattros don’t fit the fabia, has to be off a FWD like a Leon cupra or mk4 golf gti 180 etc I’m pretty sure though that this set up won’t work on a mk3 octavia I could be wrong on that so don’t quote me. There was a huge topic on here with all the information needed with regards to which brakes fit what.

I did it on the actavia mk2, but my mk3 has approx 312mm sized disks as standard.

i would say change the brake fluid as the 288 were not that bad. I only did the mk2 as I used to do lots of autobahn driving.
