"on my MK1 it was a radio cassette with CD multi-changer in the boot"    ...   thats the one  😀   ( 21 this year - the car that is )

"It was being a passenger in a then newish Mondeo....."   ...   I'm probably about to hit this stage.   ( I'm still inclined to get out and ask for directions 🙂 )

Crikey, that's more than a bit forensic!!!   A couple of months ago my car was cased at 4 oclock in the morning, by a young scummer on a bike, riding up to my car and calling someone to disc

I've worked out where BMW have got their inspiration from, for the new M4 grill

For my first decade in France people used to stop in front of my place to ask directions and it was always to somewhere a very long way away, not something further down my road or even in the area, nor somewhere big, it would be like asking in London for directions to a small village in Yorkshire!

I would ask them for their map (naive I know) to illustrate as people then could not understand my French spoken with a foreign accent, not one ever had a map and not one French person I ever knew did, if they borrowed mine it would never be returned but they would claim they had given it back.

Anyway back to the drivers asking for directions, after consulting my map I would start with directions to the next main town on their route and they would either stop me there or drive off, it became clear that they would stop to ask for directions in every town or large village!

This happened multiple times per week every week then it completely stopped over a period of about 18 months with the introduction of smartphones.

I still carry loads of maps in the car and am always adding to them, I cannot use them when driving any more and was forced to get a satnav when I lost the vision in one eye, if I still had a pair of young eyes able to focus close and far I would still not have a satnav but even I have to admit that with a smartphone if you search for say the nearest Lidl, hospital, pharmacy whatever when miles from home its much simpler to click on the map link and let the phone guide you there.

400 miles in and I have discovered two things.

One, the car has indicators!!!!

And two, people let me out at junctions again

Two things.

People appreciate others indicating their intentions.

The peasants know their place so give way to Lady Eleanor of Boro in her superior V8 Jaaaaaaag.

;)

I was just surprised at the indicators, having had 3 BMWs in a row. They even make a real relay clicking type sound, proper old school, as befits not only me, but also the Jaaaaaag. I've asked Santa for a pipe and slippers (they are for George really  :blush  )

That reminded me of when MIL picked up her new MkII Fabia Scout. She remarked that the indicators gave a nice clicking sound so you knew they were working.

Just as well as she was blind as a bat and relied on her other senses to navigate. Only had one run in with a bus in over fifty-five years of driving :D

I'm joking, of course. It was more like fifty-six years.

I took that car out for a good old run today as well. Over 100 miles through some twist north German A roads.

I just picked it up from the detailer and it was lovely for a few hours. Starting to rain now :crying:

(if you click on the picture, you can see how shiny it is... or was)

Nice framing of the pic, Amanda.

The file name has enhanced in it, as I ran it through a noise filter and it's added at export (just in case anyone wondered).

Btw, if anyone is interested, it's best to click on the image as it won't look as soft as when it's displayed on the Brisky site. :)

Definitely got the vroom factor :) and also rust. After only 3 hours from collecting it from 'Magic Detail' (Matt Phillpot in Timperly if anyone fancies a great detailer in Manchester), these are my exhaust tips

Jags...eh

So, it turns out that if you remove fuse 15 the car is a little bit more throaty :)

I found this quite interesting and the author makes a very good point indeed. I won't be buying one as not only it is too expensive for me, but also it's an EV. If it had an interesting engine and was a bit cheaper, I could be convinced by this concept :)

Time will tell.

https://www.carthrottle.com/features/heres-why-jaguar-type-00-proper-jag

Only time is going to tell what Jaguar can actually supply in the way of an EV for £120,000 sometime.

Then how much they can be bought as used a year later.

I'm wondering if it's aimed at influencers (God I hate that expression) and other vacuous wastes of breath? A car to be seen in, rather than a car to covet.

Looking at the photo of the seat with the door open gives you some idea of scale, if you then look at the photo of the whole side view it confirms my thoughts that this thing is more than twice as long as a 2 door coupé needs to be, utterly ridiculous and would overhang any parking space.

Other thoughts, what the heck are those things for that are deployed in front of the doors, something for 007? And what is that stupidity running fore and aft between the seats?

They must be losing mega money on the existing vehicles if they are going to cease production for 2 years, the workers will certainly strike in protest against the lay offs but what point is withdrawing your labour when the company does not even want to make any cars? The overheads will be crippling during that period and anyone needing spare parts for existing vehicles will be really in the merde, the newer the vehicle the worse the difficulty, any accident damaged ones will be written off even for a windscreen replacement, none of the suppliers will be producing parts on a piecemeal basis.

Edited by J.R.

Have any concept cars ever made it into full production unchanged?

I doubt it an I doubt the Jaaaaag will either tbh.
