Another 'annoying dashboard rattle" post

Featured Replies

Just bought a 2007 Fabia Bohemia estate as a work horse. Drives really well but omg that annoying rattle. I've uploaded photos of the underside of the dash, passenger side. I suspect there's a piece of trim missing which is causing the flimsy plastic adjacent to the centre console to vibrate. Also this long piece of plastic won't stay in place. Just wondering if you know what the layout underneath looks like and whether it's worth me going to a scrappies for a bit of trim.

Thanks

Jane

Brilliant thanks. Was just about to Google the numbers on it to find out what it was.

This isn't the cause of the annoying rattle/vibration though. I packed some cardboard alongside where the pollen/dust filter goes as I thought the flimsy plastic cladding around the centre console was the cause but I've just driven it again and I can still hear it. Sounds like it's deep into the centre console somewhere. Maybe I'll just turn up the radio!

Rattles can be a real pain to track, they sometimes sound like they're coming from a certain place and often turn out to be coming from somewhere entirely different.

Yes I remember deconstructing my Nissan 300zx trying to find a rattle. Turned out to be an issue with the heater matrix?!! I'll see if I can get behind the dash this week to see if it's anything obvious
